A 36-year-old man was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in federal prison after being convicted of drugging a woman and forcing her into prostitution.

Michael Lee Dickey was sentenced in federal court Monday on one count of transportation of prostitution.

According to prosecutors, the victim said Dickey injected her with narcotics two to three times per day and only left her alone after he medicated her.

Investigators found online ads featuring the victim posted on websites in Sioux City, Green Bay, Wis., and Bemidji, Minn., among others.

Prosecutors have said the victim estimated that Dickey forced her to have sex more than 100 times in the four or five months since the two moved to Sioux Falls.

Dickey brought the woman from St. Cloud, Minn., to Sioux Falls.
