Mike Miller will be staying in the Mile High City.

The Denver Nuggets announced Thursday that they have signed the veteran free agent to a multi-year contract.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, though The Vertical's Shams Charania reported Monday that the two sides had agreed to a two-year deal worth over $5 million.

Miller, 36, averaged just 7.9 minutes per game last season, but shot over 36 percent from behind the arc. He arrived in Denver after spending four of the previous five seasons playing alongside LeBron James in Miami and Cleveland.

“We’re thrilled that Mike will be back with us going forward. He exemplifies what it means to be an ultimate teammate and professional, and his resume certainly speaks for itself,” Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly said in a statement. “Last season Mike made a major impact on our young core and we look forward to continuing to have his veteran leadership both on the court and in our locker room.”

A three-time all-state selection at Mitchell, Miller led the Kernels to two Class AA championships and currently holds the school records for points in a single-game (54) and career scoring (1,724).

Following his prolific high school career, Miller headed to Gainesville, Fla. where he helped the Gators to their first-ever National Championship game appearance in 2000. The sophomore guard provided one of the signature moments in the first round of that year’s tourney, hitting a layup at the buzzer in overtime to beat Butler.

Miller decided to turn pro after his second season of college ball and was drafted fifth overall by Orlando.

The 6-foot-8, 218-pound shooting guard made an immediate impact with the Magic, averaging 11.9 points per game on 43.6 percent shooting. He also shot over 40 percent from 3 and hauled in an average of 4.0 rebounds. For his efforts, Miller was named NBA Rookie of the Year.

He spent two more seasons in Orlando before signing with Memphis in 2002-03. He has since made stops in Minnesota (2008-09), Washington (2009-10), Miami (2010-2013), Memphis (2013-14), Cleveland (2014-15) and now Denver.

For his career, Miller has 10,945 points, 2,645 assists and 571 steals.

Miller's cousin, Macy Miller, is a point guard for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
