The homeless man accused in the strangulation death of a Sioux Falls woman in November pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and manslaughter.

A grand jury last week indicted Arthur Lee Brundige, 57, for the alleged murder of Sabrina White in her apartment at 523 S. Western Ave.

Brundige and White met one another on Nov. 22, the night of her death, through mutual friends. Those friends left that night, but Brundige stayed.

Days later, her body was discovered by a family member who had come to check on her.

Brundige was found and spoke to police about what took place at White's home. He was interviewed at the Law Enforcement Center and arrested on the murder charges that day.

On Monday, Brundige pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment. Judge Susan Sabers advised Brundige of his right and set his trial date to begin on March 2.

He remains behind bars on a $750,000 cash-only bond.
