Nine SDSU wrestlers competed at the FIlLA Junior Nationals in Las Vegas over the weekend. Freshman Nate Rotert led the pack, placing third at 96 KG. The Spearfish grad went 6-1 with three wins by technical fall and one by pin. His only loss was against Ohio State recruit Kyle Snyder, the reigning world champ in the class.
To that end, Rotert advances to the Junior World Team Trials that start May 30 in Madison, Wis.

SDSU men's basketball coach Scott Nagy said that redshirt freshman guard Matt Donlan is going to transfer out in search of more playing time. The 6-foot-6 Australian from California appeared in just seven games in 2013-14, totaling two points, two rebounds and one assist.
Donlan could not be reached for comment.
Meanwhile, the scholarship vacated by Donlan will go to George Marshall, a transfer from Wisconsin. The Chicago native joined the Jacks at semester break this season. He'll have 1.5 seasons remaining starting in the middle of the 2014-15 campaign.

SDSU will have at least four recent former pitchers playing pro ball again this summer as Stephen Bougher is set to stay on with Lincoln of the American Association. As a rookie, Bougher went 3-8 last season in 13 starts with a 3.90 ERA.

The NBA regular season ended last week, and former SDSU star point guard Nate Wolters stacked up well. The No. 38 draft pick finished 8th among all players in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.28). In terms of rookies, he was fourth in assists (3.2), seventh in minutes (22.6), 10th in points (7.2), 13th in steals (0.6) and 18th in rebounds (2.6).
The all-rookie team hasn't been announced yet.
