Cross-country flight stops in SF for medical emergency

A cross-country United Airlines flight was diverted to Sioux Falls because of a medical emergency Wednesday night.

United Airlines Flight 260 landed at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport, said Dan Letellier, the airport's executive director.

The flight was headed from Seattle to Washington, D.C., but stopped in Sioux Falls just after 6 p.m. The sick person was transported by ambulance to a hospital. Information on the patient's condition was not available.

At 8 p.m., the airplane continued on to Dulles International Airport, according to FlightAware.
