Police seek man who groped woman on bike trail
Police are looking for a man who groped a woman on the bike trail on Wednesday morning.
The 30-year-old woman was riding her bike on the trail between 10th and 11th streets downtown on the east side of the river when she saw a man sitting near the rocks on the bank, police spokesman Sam Clemens said. The man appeared to be clean-cut and the woman didn't think much of it.
As the woman was standing up to pedal up a hill, the man ran up behind her and grabbed her between her legs before running north, Clemens said.
The man was described as between 25 and 35 years old with a thin build. He was wearing a blue coat and a blue hat.
Clemens described the incident as "a rare occurrence," saying that the bike trail is regularly patrolled.
