Aldi planning second grocery in Sioux Falls

Sioux Falls Business Journal

Aldi, a national grocery chain that is opening its first store in the former Big Lots space in spring, is seeking a building permit for an east-side location.

Aldi plans to build a second grocery store in Sioux Falls on Arrowhead Parkway.

Aldi wants to build at 5201 E. Arrowhead Parkway.

The grocery started hiring for the Louise Avenue location in October.

Aldi is a discount grocery chain that offers produce, dairy, frozen foods and private label items. It first started looking at the Sioux Falls market several years ago.

Another fairly new entrant to the market, Fareway, is building its second site in Sioux Falls, also on the east side. That grocery will be at 41st Street and Sycamore Ave.
