A Sioux Falls woman has been indicted on rape and sexual exploitation charges after being accused of raping a 7-year-old boy.

Alexandria Leanne Turner, 32, faces one count of first-degree rape, three counts of sexual contact with a child younger than 16 and three counts of sexual exploitation. A grand jury indicted her on the charges Feb. 4.

Turner faces up to life in prison on the first-degree rape charge, up to 15 years in prison on each sexual contact charge and up to two years on the sexual exploitation charges.

According to an affidavit filed in support of her arrest, the Department of Social Services learned in July 2015 about possible sexual abuse of children occurring at a Sioux Falls home.

The victim's mother reported that her son had been inappropriately touched while being care for by a relative, the court record says.

The 7-year-old boy disclosed the sexual abuse to a forensic specialist at Child’s Voice.

Turner was later arrested.
