The program--which is put on by Pueblo De Dios, First Lutheran Church, Peace Lutheran Church and First Congregational Church--caters to kids that speak English, but want to learn Spanish; speak Spanish, but want to learn English; and kids that speak both languages, said Becky Pagone, Christian education director at First Congregational Church. One of the goals of the program is for children to have fun and experience different cultures, Pagone said. Nancy Henrichsen, director of Children's Ministry at First Lutheran Church, said that she likes that she's able to spend the whole day with the children during the Vacation Bible School. "Children are the elixir of life," Henrichsen said, "I prefer that to a gym membership."
