Our long, city-wide, pizza-desiring nightmare* is over...Breadico will start serving pizza again this Friday at 5 p.m.

It's hard to believe it has been nearly a year and a half since the East Bank bakery last made their delicious pies. But earlier this summer, owner David Napolitano and his crew decided to add a wood fired pizza oven, so we knew this day would come.

"It's beautiful," Napolitano said of the stove. "We've been making some really nice pizzas in there."

To make room for the stove, Breadico has also expanded its kitchen area.

"Before we were just a bakery trying to make pizzas," Napolitano said. "Now I'm completely satisfied with the product, where as before we just couldn't do what the dough deserved."

I'm a huge fan of Breadico pizza. And many of you are as well, since every time they had a pizza night, the place was packed.

So this is obviously great news. The best news, though, is they will have pizza available every day. From 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Tuesday - Thursday, and from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Initial pizzas options will be: cheese, pepperoni, pear and walnut, spicy soppressata, wild mushroom cambozola and a pancetta. They will also be adding a cannoli dessert, and you can still get beer and wine from Latitude 44.

"Everything is up, oven is ready to go and we're pulling the trigger," Napolitano said. "It's the most fun I've ever had baking."

See you there Friday for sure!

(*Clearly this is hyperbole. We have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to good pizza in town now. But Breadico's was clearly missed while it was gone.)
