Career change: It's time for a new challenge

On Thursday afternoon, I resigned as a sports reporter at Argus Leader Media. My last day will be Jan. 31.

Not many hours later, I'll start a job as the Enterprise Director of Orthopedic & Sports Medicine for Sanford Marketing. It's a newly created position based in Sioux Falls. Basically, I'll be involved in marketing several Sanford Health programs across South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota.

It's an exciting opportunity marked by professional challenges and personal benefits.

That said, I'll miss the journalism community, the Jackrabbits – they never made me feel like a nuisance – and the readers. I can't thank you enough for supporting my work and my family over the last eight-plus years. It's been a privilege to get to know so many good people, and I look forward to joining you in the stands.
