Regents top official to visit D.C.

The head of South Dakota’s college system is meeting with top United States education officials this week to talk about classroom standards and testing.

Jack Warner, executive director and CEO of the South Dakota Board of Regents, is scheduled to visit Washington D.C. on Friday to meet with U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

Warner will talk about the responsibilities of higher education institutions in ongoing K-12 reforms, according to the Board of Regents. He will be joined by representatives from California, Wyoming, Louisiana, Illinois, Idaho and Massachusetts.
